The Customer was wanting the work flow of the kitchen to be improved to allow for more than one cook to work in the kitchen at a time. U-shaped kitchens always presents a challenge to proper work flow ...
so the peninsula had to go to make room for the new island with it's oversized work surface and seating.
The customer also requested improved storage and lighting in the new kitchen. The old "custom built" cabinets had to give way to new Jim Bishop cabinets with maple dovetail drawers on full extension slides for pot and pan storage below counter.
A new fur down was built to match the cabinets and include indirect lighting to brighten the countertop work surface for cooking and food preparation.
